Self-Directed Support Act Report

A report published by the Health, Social Care and Sport Committee has found that implementation of the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 has been hampered by a range of factors.

 
 

 

Shared Parental Leave fails to encourage greater take-up or longer leave by fathers

The study found SPL has not affected the number of fathers taking leave, nor the length of leave they choose to take.

It is often assumed that those managing sight loss will struggle to find or remain in employment and at this session Heather Barbara from the Royal National Institute for Blind People will help us understand the realities and adaptations needed for employees with sight loss.

Lunchtime Learning - Introduction to Peer Support

Tuesday 15 October, 12.00-1.00, online

At this session Lea Cooper, Peer Support Network Coordinator at Fife Voluntary Action, will offer some context to the history and purpose of peer support, tell us more about the current landscape of peer support in Fife, and provide information on how you can grow and develop peer support within your organisation or context.

 

Our forums provide an impartial and safe platform for services in Fife to discuss important topics, learn about key updates and network with peers. To take part, just sign up to attend!

Royal Voluntary Service is preparing Christmas for their service users and they're looking for Christmas entertainment for their groups to enjoy in December. They're particularly keen to hear from Scottish dancers and accordion players.

Macmillan Coffee Morning at Craigtoun Park

This September, Friends of Craigtoun is pleased to be taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning. Each year, Craigtoun's staff and volunteers generously donate an array of delicious home baking for the event and the Friends of Craigtoun donate the teas and coffees to go with it.
