Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Year 4

We are delighted to announce the launch of the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for 2024. 

Funded by the Scottish Government, applications are now open and just over £1 million is available in this financial year. The Fund is managed in Fife by Fife Voluntary Action, with support from local statutory partners.

The minimum amount you can apply for is £1,000 and the maximum is £50,000.

The closing date is 11.59pm on Monday 11 November 2024.

With statistics this year from Age Scotland showing that over 400,000 older people living in Scotland have been targeted by scammers, it has never been more important to protect yourself and others from falling victim to fraudsters. 

Can volunteering help tackle low youth voter turnout?

Volunteer Scotland and Dr Stuart Fox have created a new blog discussing recent research showing that volunteering can help connect young people – particularly those from poorer backgrounds – with electoral politics.

At this session, members of FVA’s Lived Experience Team will discuss some of the potentials and challenges of lived experience work and share some of the examples of good practice they’ve been involved with in Fife.

At this session, Audrey Whyte, Benefit Take Up Campaign Lead, a post hosted by Citizens Advice & Rights Fife, will provide an overview of the Cost Of Living Campaign in Fife.

The Fife Peer Support Network hosts a bi-monthly (one every two month) co-reflection groups for people practising peer support in Fife, whether formally or informally, in paid or voluntary roles, or with groups or individuals.

The Scottish Assembly of Parents and Carers (SAPC) is recruiting members to join their first dedicated lived experience panel for parents and carers in Scotland.

 

Call for volunteer stories from heritage professionals

Ahead of the first annual Heritage Careers Week (28 October – 1 November), Make Your Mark is looking to highlight career paths of people who volunteered with heritage organisations and then went on to work within Scotland’s heritage sector.

 

The Ecology Centre Volunteering Programme

The Ecology Centre offers volunteer positions to individuals who may face difficulties in accessing employment or who require work experience, gain confidence as well as to enhance their future career prospects.

 

Get into Health and Social Care with Prince’s Trust Scotland

This is a free four-week course hosted by Prince's Trust Scotland and Fife Health and Social Care Partnership - in which participants will gain sector-related skills and complete a work placement within a social care setting.

Social Enterprise Scotland Network Meeting - Social Enterprises Running Community Spaces
