Enables groups to get sound advice

Mobile, in-person assistance is now available for community groups across Fife, thanks to Fife Voluntary Action’s (FVA) new Mobile Community Support Hub.

The hub is based out of a specially equipped van that will visit locations across Fife every Tuesday and Wednesday. Members of FVA’s Capacity Building team will be on hand to discuss topics like governance, policy, funding, business planning, crisis support, and much more.

Anyone who runs a local community organisation can drop by when the van is in their area. It’s also open to anyone thinking of setting up a new group.

Supported by Fife Rural Development Fund, FVA can help organisations deliver services, particularly those in rural areas such as North East Fife and South West Fife.

Kenny Murphy, chief executive of FVA, said “FVA is committed to supporting the third sector to ensure it’s robust, resilient, and delivers high quality services for the people of Fife. We are delighted to launch the Mobile Hub to increase our presence in rural areas.”

Helen Rorrison, head of capacity Building at FVA, said “We offer a range of support to organisations in Fife, assisting them with topics such as governance and funding.

"The Mobile Community Support Hub means that we can meet with more organisations face to face and reach groups in rural areas that might find it inconvenient to get to one of our offices.”
