Fife Volunteer Recruitment Roadshow 2025
|
|
Fife Voluntary Action is hosting a volunteer recruitment roadshow across Fife where a range of voluntary organisations will be on hand to chat about their opportunities and help you find one that suits you best.
Our volunteering team will be there to discuss volunteering opportunities in Fife, available support, and volunteer training.
The events are open to the public, so come along or bring a service user you think would benefit from volunteering.

Become a Fife Saltire Ambassador
|
|
|
Fife Voluntary Action would like to hear from interested young people (aged 12-25 years old) who have achieved over 200 hours volunteering, have gained their Saltire Certification, and are looking to become a Saltire Ambassador for Fife.
Saltire Ambassadors will be active in promoting and developing the Saltire Awards throughout their local community. They can get involved in many events and celebrations, talking to young people like themselves and encouraging them to get involved in volunteering.

FVA Volunteers' Christmas Lunch
|
|
|
Fife Voluntary Action's volunteers celebrated Christmas with a special lunch at The Steadings in Kirkcaldy.
As a gesture of appreciation, volunteers from FVA's Kingdom Companions, Footcare Fife, Clothing Bank, and Administration were treated to a three-course lunch on Wednesday 18 December 2024.

FVA Festive Opening Hours
|
|
During the festive holidays, FVA will be closed on Wednesday 25 - Thursday 26 December 2024 and Wednesday 01 - Thursday 02 January 2025.
The Community Support Hub in Dunfermline will operate Saturday hours (10.00-4.00) on Tuesday 24 December 2024, Tuesday 31 December 2024, and Saturday 04 January 2025.
Some FVA staff will be available during the festive period to provide support for urgent issues that arise for volunteers or third sector organisations during this time.
If you require any urgent assistance or support call 0800 389 6046 and our staff will respond to your enquiry as soon as they can.
We hope you all have a safe and merry festive season and look forward to seeing you all in 2025!

PVG/Disclosure - Introductory Session

This FVA-run course will explore the principles of background checking of all types for both staff and volunteers. This includes the types of disclosure checks, how to process checks, and safe recruitment practices.

Peer2Peer Essentials
Thursday 16 January, 10.00-4.00, Caledonia House Glenrothes
This one-day course will help you explore peer support, recognise the value of self-care and boundaries, understand the importance of being trauma informed, and recognise and respond to stigma and power imbalances.

Roles and Responsibilities of a Trustee/Committee/Board Member
Wednesday 22 January, 6.00-9.00, Caledonia House Glenrothes
This free training session is designed to help new or potential Trustees to understand their role and responsibilities so that they can enjoy and thrive in their role free from stress or worries by understanding what they can and should be doing.

Volunteer Management Training Course 1 - Volunteer Involvement - Getting Started
Thursday 23 January, 10.00-1.00, Dunfermline Community Support Hub
Whether you don't yet have any volunteers or have been working with volunteers for a while, getting these basics in place will reap great rewards. You'll be able to head off any issues with volunteers not understanding their responsibilities and you'll be clear about yours.

Fife Rural Development Fund
Last minute funding has become available through Fife Rural Development Fund for revenue-only community projects in rural areas of Fife. All funds must be spent by 28 February 2025.
