Opportunity for care home staff: fully funded MSc research programme
We have been asked to share an opportunity from the University of Glasgow that may be of interest to people working in, or with, care homes for older adults.
The University of Glasgow is recruiting for a fully funded MSc by Research as part of the NIHR-funded Embedding TEchnology in Care Homes (ETECH) programme, which is exploring how technology is embedded and used within care homes across the UK.
The MSc by Research project will focus on digital maturity in remote and rural care homes, examining areas such as:
- digital infrastructure and connectivity
- workforce digital skills and confidence
- leadership approaches to digital strategy
- the experiences of residents and families
- how technology can help address the challenges of geographical isolation and improve access to support and services.
The funding includes:
- university tuition fees
- a full stipend for full-time study
- the opportunity to continue working up to 20 hours per week alongside the programme.
As the research team is especially interested in hearing from people with care home experience, we were pleased to be asked to share this opportunity with our network. While the post is advertised as full-time, part-time study may also be considered for the right candidate.
The application deadline has been extended to 27 July 2026.
Further information and application details can be found here.
