Estimates of the very old, including centenarians, UK: 2002 to 2025
On 23 October, the ONS released annual mid-year population estimates of people aged 90 years and over in the UK, by sex and single year of age up to 105 years and over.

The Fertility Sector 2025/26 report
On 15 October, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) published its Fertility Sector 2025/26 report.

Suicides in England and Wales: 1981 to 2025
On 13 October, the ONS released data on suicide deaths in England and Wales, registered by sex, age, area of usual residence of deceased and suicide method.
After consulting with users of its statistics, more occurrence-based suicide statistics have been included. Future releases in this series will use improved statistical methods to produce timelier death occurrence estimates. This will account for long registration delays for some deaths, and allow for reliable comparisons between years

On 6 October, the Office for Health Improvement & Disparities (OHID) published its most recent smoking profile update.

The latest update shows that adult smoking prevalence in England has fallen below 10% for the first time. Smoking remains more common in some populations, with those living in the most deprived tenth of small areas of 2025 smoking at a higher rate than those in the least deprived areas.
Adult smoking habits in the UK: 2025
