Update on Code of Practice for services, public functions and associations

The Minister for Women and Equalities has laid the draft Code of Practice for services, public functions and associations before Parliament.

Parliament has 40 days from the laying date to review the Code. The Code has been laid under the negative procedure. It will come into force if neither House passes a resolution against it within 40 days.  After that, we will publish it on our website.

Once the Code is in force, it will have legal status as a statutory code of practice on how service providers, public functions and associations can meet the duties set out in the Equality Act 2010.
